The best natural hair care products!
Don’t you hate it when you have found a favorite product that works perfectly for you, and then they suddenly, and without warning, change the formula? Whenever a company does this, I really wish they would send out an email to their customers announcing the upcoming change so that one can stock up.
This recently happened to me: shortly after I published my post where I named Just Natural’s Gel for Curly Hair a winner in styling, they changed the formula. Not only do I really dislike the smell of the new version, it doesn’t work on my hair. The old one used to give my curls just the right amount of softness and hold; this new one makes my hair look (and feel) like a haystack (having said that, my husband likes the new version, so it does work for some people).
I have to give Just Natural props for excellent customer service though. When I contacted them to ask if they formula had indeed changed or if I just got a bad batch, they confirmed that it had changed “to improve performance” but also offered to send me a new bottle of the gel just in case there was something wrong with the one I had. I thought that was very generous – it’s a huge bottle; even if you use it every day, it will last you a long time. I took them up on that offer and a new bottle was promptly delivered. It still doesn’t work for me, but my husband is set with gel for the foreseeable future!
So I’ve been on a hunt for the new perfect gel, and because I do love Just Natural’s products, and most of them work really well for me, I decided to try a few of their other styling products, as well as shampoos and conditioners. I’m happy I did, because I discovered a couple of new favorites:
Best: Grow New Hair Shampoo
With baby fine Scandinavian hair, I’m always on the hunt for products that add volume and substance, and the Grow New Hair shampoo does just that. You’re supposed to leave it in for 3-5 minutes before rinsing, and interestingly, it’s almost gone by the time you rinse. It leaves my hair clean, smelling great, and definitely fuller. It took a few washes to notice a difference, so it seems to build up over time.
Best Conditioner: Thicker Hair
The Thicker Hair Conditioner one is still a favorite. I love the smell and it is so rich and creamy, but not so heavy that it weighs the hair down.
Best Hair Styling Product: Nutritive Creamy Styling Gel
The Nutritive Creamy Styling gel is a great new find! It makes my hair incredibly soft and healthy looking, with loose ringlets and no frizz at all. However, it does not have enough hold for my hair, so I mix it with John Masters Organics Sweet Orange and Silk Protein styling gel, and the two together are perfect. The curls look nice AND last for days.
Best Hair Spray
Intelligent Nutrients Perfect Hold spray is still a favorite in this category. I just love the scent and it works great, providing nice hold without stiffness.
Another thing I love about Just Natural is that they often include a good sized sample, some of them are generous enough that they last for a month or more!

You stated they always send you a sample of a hair product I’ve got or should I say purchase over a $100.00 worth of Just Natural products and have just once to receive a sample of hair products. I am going to try the products and see how I like them. Will let you know ok.

Hm, perhaps they have changed their sample policy? I placed my last order about a month ago, and I did receive a sample.

I’d like to try the “grow new hair shampoo.” Don’t Know if it will suit me. Nothing usually does. 🙁

Hi Barb,
I hope it works for you. I recently discovered another of their shampoos that I actually like even better (it smells amazing too): http://shrsl.com/?gmdd
