The new Valentines Day card collection is finally here!
I have been so crazy busy lately that I have not added as many new products to my Etsy store as I would like. Lots of ideas but very little time… But last weekend, I decided to put some of all those ideas I have had for such a long time now on paper.
I took out some rose petals and a few other plants that I collected while walking Sadie years ago (I loved how she took her time to really sniff and investigate everything – it made me stop and enjoy the nature around us too, instead of just rushing by). They had been drying in folded archival papers in between the pages of a B&H catalog and I didn’t know how they had held up, but I was in for a nice surprise. They were beautiful – some are so delicate that you can almost see through them, and with others, the already deep colors had intensified.
I arranged and rearranged for a while until I felt I had gotten something I could work with. After playing with the layouts and wording a bit, I selected the 4 below as my top picks. It is a little bit of a departure from my usual style, but I have to say I’m happy with the result. And after seeing the final products, I realize that they do represent me and who I am, which is something I usually shy away from in my art. I guess I’m just not comfortable with sharing too much of myself with others. 🙂
Anyway, here it is – The Valentine’s Day greeting card collection 2013:
available from my Etsy store (as is, as customizable cards and as wall art).
Have a good weekend everyone!
